Taumarere

Taumarere is a locality in North land, New Zealand. State Highway 11 runs through the area. The Kawakawa River runs through Taumarere into the Bay of Islands. The town of Kawakawa is 3 km to the southwest. Paihia is 14 km to the north.
St. Andrew's Church originally stood on the site of the Church Missionary Society's Paihia Mission Station. In 1927 the building was transported by barge and bullock wagon to its present site. Near the intersection of Waikare and Karetu and Lemons hill

The train tracks to Opua were originally used for coal transport and marketing and selling to other countries.

Now there are no coalmines because there is no need for the train to transport coal anymore so they use the tracks to do tours and talk about the history of that place.

My holiday

  1. Going to my baby cousins 1st  birthday
  2. looking after my other 1 year old cousin
  3. playing games

On saturday I went to my cousins 1st birthday it was a onesie party I had no onesie lucky because it was hot that day and everyone was sweating. He was dressed as a bumblebee and he was so cute. But dribbled all over his candles on his cake.

I with my friends until i had to look after my other cousin. It was fun because we started to play tag on the bouncy castle. There was a basketball hoop on the bouncy castle and he always got bowled over but he kept chasing everyone on the bouncy castle.

We played a game like pass the parcel. You had to roll the dice and get a double six and then put on a beanie, t-shirt, pants, And a scarf. Next we had to cut a piece of chocolate one piece at a time then I stabbed the chocolate in half and got kicked out.

Project island song

Last week on Friday we went to Urupukapuka Island with My class and room 2 it was very fun going out on to the bow of the boat. The bow of the boat is located at the very front of the boat.

We also learnt these 4 different words 1. Endemic: Native only found in NZ. 2. Translocation:Bringing from one place to another. 3. Incursion: Pests have got onto the island and similar to invasion. 4. Biodiversity: Different types of species.

One way to keep Urupukapuka island pest free is keeping your boat clean if your boat is not clean rats will get on to your boat and if you go to the island rats will be on the island and it will take three weeks to get rid of one rat.

Here are some photos of us on the boat and the island.

Maths

This week for math's we were doing a problem highest and lowest. We had to see what the highest number was we can make using  the numbers 1,2,3,4,5,6. But we could only use 4 numbers any four numbers my highest number was 360. Then we had to see what the lowest number we could using the same numbers my lowest number was -8 (negative 8 ). The hard part was adding it together the easy part was just using numbers that were easy to add together. We were also using these strategies minus, addition, multiplication and division. This is my slide.
