Taumarere

Taumarere is a locality in North land, New Zealand. State Highway 11 runs through the area. The Kawakawa River runs through Taumarere into the Bay of Islands. The town of Kawakawa is 3 km to the southwest. Paihia is 14 km to the north.
St. Andrew's Church originally stood on the site of the Church Missionary Society's Paihia Mission Station. In 1927 the building was transported by barge and bullock wagon to its present site. Near the intersection of Waikare and Karetu and Lemons hill

The train tracks to Opua were originally used for coal transport and marketing and selling to other countries.

Now there are no coalmines because there is no need for the train to transport coal anymore so they use the tracks to do tours and talk about the history of that place.
